What Is The Most Famous Hardflip Ever Done?
Compartir
We hit the streets and asked the world's best professional skateboarders one question: who has the most famous hardflip of all time?
Not the biggest. Not the fastest. Not the most technical. The most famous.
The hardflip — believed to be invented by skate legend Daewon Song, originally called the "inside kickflip" by Daewon and Rodney Mullen — is one of skateboarding's most visually satisfying tricks when done right. It's a high-risk, high-reward move that separates the good from the great. Skaters like Luan Oliveira, Sean Malto, Ryan Decenzo, Chris Joslin, and Enzo Cautela have all cracked the code — making it look effortless, powerful, and unmistakably stylish.
After interviewing over 20 professionals — including Andrew Reynolds, Antwuan Dixon, Bam Margera, Jamie Foy, and more — we narrowed it down to two names: Bryan Herman and Ryan Sheckler.
Ryan Sheckler — Thrasher "Bust or Bail"
Sheckler's hardflip down 16 stairs at Thrasher Magazine's Bust or Bail contest was a defining moment. Spontaneous, massive, and utterly committed — it reframed Ryan, known largely as a contest skater, as one of the gnarliest street skaters of his generation.
Bryan Herman — The Paris 5 Block "Berci" Hardflip
But Bryan Herman's catalog of hardflips is in a class of its own. Across Baker Skateboards and Emerica videos, Herman stacked hardflip after legendary hardflip. And when it comes to sheer scale, replay value, and cultural weight, the Paris 5 Block "Berci" hardflip — filmed by Jon Miner — stands alone as the most seen, most discussed, and most celebrated hardflip in skateboarding history.
That's why we called it: Bryan Herman's Paris hardflip is the Most Famous Hardflip Ever Done.
